Consistency is the key to a successful social media strategy.

Without consistency, your social media profiles are like those people you know who may or may not show up to your next meeting or social gathering.

Consistent Presence

We’ve all followed pages on Facebook or profiles on Instagram that go through spurts. We see these brands show up to sell us stuff around the holidays. But the rest of the year, it’s crickets.

Your brand looks undependable if you don’t consistently show up on social media.

Consistency will build your credibility with your potential customers.

We’ve all heard the old advertising research that says someone needs 7 touches with your brand before becoming a client or a customer. (And new research is telling us that those touches should be MEANINGFUL, so our marketing strategy has got to be strategic.) Couple this Rule of 7 with Facebook and Instagram algorithms that only show our posts to a small percentage of our followers, and we can see how important it is to post on social media consistently.

Consistent Aesthetic

Like it or not, we live in a visual world. Graphic design, photos, and videos rule the social media sphere these days. Just as important as how often you post, is what image you post. Do your graphics have the same fonts, colors, and filters? Could a potential client recognize your brand just by viewing the images you post? If not, it’s time for a change.

Consistent Voice

Decide the voice of your brand and stick to it. Know who you’re aiming to reach and know how they communicate. Know what moves them. Communicate your values and mission within your content in a way that resonates with your audience. Brand recognition is so important on social media. So be true to your brand by showing up as the same voice consistently.

Consider making social media content creation a habit. Put it on your calendar so consistency becomes routine.
